Background

I am a Clinical Psychologist with 10 years clinical experience. I am registered with the Health Professionals Council, registration number PYL24477, and am chartered with the British Psychological Society.
I completed a BSc in Psychology from Durham University and gained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Newcastle. Since qualifying I have worked for the NHS in child and adolescent services in the North East, and then in both child and family services and adult mental health services in Lancashire.
I use an integrated approach drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Theory, psychodynamic theory, attachment, systemic, narrative, and compassionate mind approaches. I offer a holistic assessment followed by an opportunity to create a shared understanding of the situation or difficulties called a formulation. This assessment and formulation then guides the approach of the therapeutic work.
I am also an Associate Tutor for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Lancaster University. I co-ordinate their mentoring scheme for trainee Clinical Psychologists and am involved in marking doctorate assignments.
